Traitor's Gorge, Mephiston: Lord of Death and other Black LIbrary Live 2013 news

Just read on the Black Library blog that there will be an exclusive "Space Marine Battles" novella entitled "Traitor's Gorge" authored by Mike Lee This will be on sale for the first time at Black Library Live! 2013 (2nd March) and other Black Library events only. This probably means that you will be able to pick it up at the Weekender and perhaps Games Day 2013.

No mention of it being a limited edition though so chances are it will be in the format of Flesh of Cretacia and Yarrick: Chains of Golgotha (see here of a rundown of Black Library Limited Editions). Hopefully this means it will be retailing at £12, not £30-35 like the limited editions. I will be most likely picking up one or two at BL Live this year, although Mike will not be there in person to sign them for me...

The "Exclusive" chapbook is by Dan Abnett and his wife Nik Vincent, stories are about Commissar Ibram Gaunt and the Iron Snakes Chapter. Two 40k stories is unusual but not exactly unexpected given its popularity over WHFB. Of course you will no doubt be able to buy this on the Black Library website as well.  There is also a Gaunt's Ghosts T-shirt, limited to 100; unwearable in public, of course.

In other news, Mephiston: Lord of Death is only available until Friday at 6pm (GMT), which is in less than 48 hours. Pick it up now if you haven't already, because chances are it won't be going cheaper second hand. I would caution against buying copies to resell however as this isn't a Horus Heresy release, and if you look at "Unkindness of Ravens" and "Catechism of Hate", they don't go for much over their selling price. Plus it's not limited to a set number, so it remains to be seen how many are actually printed. I'll eat my words if this one turns out to be worth hundreds like "Promethean Sun" though.

Finally Black Library Live! 2013 is just about sold out. Grab your ticket here quick if you want to go and be weird around Black Library authors.
